How long have you been together and what made it happen?

We formed the team and started training together under a year ago although all of us have been jumping together for years, 3 of us were in the same university skydiving club in the UK. We've all done regular FS before and we decided VFS would be a great way to combine our love of competition with our passion for freeflying.

What are your biggest achievements?

Winning the UK VFS National Championships this year. 2 of our team members were also on the head down world record this year. 4 of us were on the UK head down record this year, for 2 of us it was by far our largest formation to date.

Who do you want to thank to?

We'd like to thank our coaches, Adam Mattacola and Jim Harris for introducing us to VFS in the tunnel and in the sky, The tunnel staff at Airkix Basingstoke and Bodyflight Bedford for putting up with us flying 1 minute rotations all the time. Our sponsors Cookie Composites, UPT and Human Flight Systems for our lovely multi-coloured helmets, rigs and camera mounts!

What makes your team different from the others?

We're pretty inexperienced compared to a lot of the teams having only been together around a year. None of us have ever worked in the sport, we all have full time jobs so training time is a struggle to come by!

We couldn't decide on our team colours so we chose a colour each. Two people wanted blue. Rock, paper, scissors was used to decide. Greg lost and thus had to replace all of his equipment.

Tell us little something about each team member.

We've all been skydiving since 2008 or 2009 and we're all between 25 and 27.

Tim has 1200 jumps and around 80 hours of tunnel. Compared to the everyone else in the team he's basically a giant. He lives right next to the Airkix Basingstoke and as such owns our official team residence. He makes and eats more pancakes than could ever been considered healthy. They're especially good with bacon and maple syrup.

Sarah has 800 jumps and around 80 hours of tunnel. As the only girl in the team, she does an outstanding job of putting up with everyone else - especially on 2 week training camps. She's addicted to cheese and vodka (not together, that would be weird).

Greg has 1200 jumps and about 30 hours of tunnel. He only learnt head down in the tunnel a few weeks before starting to learn VFS. He has been based in France for the last 4 years. This meant lots of travelling for the first year of training but he has fortunately just moved back to the UK.

Martin has 1200 jumps and around 100 hours of tunnel. His best feature is his ability to do a tequila suicide without any kind of reaction, a skill I'm sure he would love to demonstrate on camera. Other than that he's our best flyer (but don't tell him I said that).
